- Founder of Okalai.org – an educational project that seeks to introduce Artificial Intelligence to young people in Namibia, and other African countries.
- Faculty co-lead of the UCSD-HBCUs Computer Science for Social Impact Summer Institute – which provides students from historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) with research experience
